About Our Lead (Research and Content) Opening

We’re hiring a Lead (Research and Content) for steering Centre for Trustworthy Technology’s (CTT) research endeavours. This role is focused on exploring societal nuances of emerging technologies, enhancing trust and safety frameworks, and championing responsible innovation for industry. Ideal candidates will bring a rich background in digital safety, ethical technology use, digital rights, technological innovation, or related fields. Moreover, a proven track record of writing and publishing on these topics is essential.

Reporting Lines and Interactions:

The Lead will report to the Executive Director (ED) of CTT. They will work closely with research leads across the C4IR Network and World Economic Forum (Forum). They will build and sustain strong and collaborative relationships with industry and policy teams whose work intersects with the CTT’s work streams.


Research and Thought Leadership
  • Conduct independent research on the themes of trust and technology to further the vision of CTT.
  • Write white papers, conceptualise frameworks, identify best practices, and draft Point of View Papers as required to fulfil the objectives of CTT’s work streams.
  • Oversee the structuring of industry deep dives to help animate and inform dialogues.
  • Develop and implement various advocacy strategies for disseminating CTT research through multiple channels, including written content, audio, video, and additional mediums as appropriate.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and related fields, providing thought leadership within the organization and externally.
C4IR Network/Forum Engagement
  • Develop and implement strategic integration in research and advocacy with the C4IR affiliate Centres and the Forum to ensure seamless collaboration on the topic of trust and technology.
  • Support the CTT’s collaboration with the Forum through participating in Forum projects, as necessary, and interacting with the Forum’s primary engagement members to align with partners for events held by the Centre.
  • Collaborate for research and content creation with affiliate centres in the C4IR network and the Forum.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to create and maintain delivery plans, timelines, and milestones to meet objectives.
  • Drive effective delivery of projects through a highly collaborative approach and effective project and process management, communication, and reporting.
  • Connect regularly with community members to stay at the forefront of the applications, impact, and implications of emerging technologies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with key organizations, governments, and industry leaders to advance the goals of the CTT.
  • Incubate and kick off new initiatives where needed and ensure outputs are aligned with the Forum’s activities.
Key Deliverables and Measurable Outcomes
  • Publication of one white paper per annum to the Forum, for co-branding, if required. Gain approval for one white paper per annum from Deloitte under the terms of the Grant Agreement.
  • Write multiple point-of-view papers, white papers, technology briefs, op eds, blogs to align with the workstreams of CTT.
  • Shape the content briefs for multiple stakeholders for the annual trustworthy technology conference.
  • Augment collaborative research content between CTT and affiliate C4IR centres.
  • Develop a monthly content brief around trustworthy technology use cases and developments for CTT’s community outreach.
Preferred Requirements and Experience
  • A master’s degree in computer science, public policy, law, international relations, or other related fields with a focus on emerging technology and trust.
  • 5+ years of experience working on enhancing trust in emerging technology domain.
  • Expertise in a range of frontier technologies: Metaverse, Generative AI, Quantum, Data Governance, AR/VR, etc.
  • Experience creating and scaling best practices and frameworks on the theme of trust and technology.
  • Experience collaborating with academia, civil society, policy leaders, and industry partners to address critical questions of the impact of technology on society.
  • Agile, with a positive and constructive attitude towards getting things done, connecting the dots, and delivering results while embracing change.
  • Outstanding command of English, with excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills; knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
  • Ability to understand multi-stakeholder interests, align those to the CTT vision, and drive impact.

  • We anticipate the starting salary for this role to be in the range of $85,000 – 110,000 based on experience. Beyond career-defining work, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to support you along the way:
