About Our Marketing & Communications Internship

The CTT Marketing & Communications Internship offers students a unique opportunity to contribute to our mission while gaining valuable experience in advancing trustworthy technology. As an intern at CTT, you will be immersed in a dynamic and collaborative environment, working alongside leading experts to conceptualize actionable frameworks and guidelines for trustworthy technology design, development and deployment.

This role is focused on exploring societal nuances of emerging technologies, enhancing trust and safety frameworks, and championing responsible innovation for society. Ideal candidates will bring a rich background in digital safety, ethical technology use, digital rights, technological innovation, or related fields.

You will report to the Executive Director of CTT and work with team members and partners basis CTT’s workstream requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with our design team to create engaging and compelling communications materials, including but not limited to, PowerPoint presentations, event advertisements, and social media posts.
  • Collaborate with CTT colleagues to develop strategic marketing plans on LinkedIn, X, and other platforms.
  • Develop data dashboards and identify specific metrics to track our engagement across various platforms.
  • Manage social media content calendars, from creating content to scheduling posts.
  • You will also be asked to ideate on a fall project that you will work on throughout the internship, accumulating into a final product that you would like to demonstrate on your CV and advances the goals of CTT. This project can take on many forms, but must be related to marketing, communications, or business analytics/development. Our team is here to support your work on this project from brainstorming to execution.
 
Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (journalism, communications, design, multimedia or any other related field). A focus on emerging technology and trust in academic work will be preferred.
  • Strong Academic Record.
  • Strong interest in advancing responsible and trustworthy technology in society.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office, Zoom, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and their ethical implications is preferred but not required.
  • Agile, with a positive and constructive attitude towards getting things done, connecting the dots, and delivering results while embracing change.
  • Outstanding command of English, with excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills; knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
  • Ability to understand multi-stakeholder interests, align those to CTT vision and drive impact.
Compensation and Logistics:

Interns will receive a stipend for participating in the program for up to 40 work hours per week. The internship will be conducted remotely, with flexible hours to accommodate students’ schedules. Course credit may be available through the intern’s academic institution.

Duration (flexible dates and duration):

September 15th – December 15th, 2024.
